Democracy must 'Govern'; Corporate Capitalism 'generates' Greed; and that must be controlled.

A characteristic of Democracy is that it needs to 'Govern' and apply 'Democratic Principles' to each and every 'Real' Individual in the 'Condition of Togetherness'. A characteristic of Capitalism is that it can generate Greed. Democracy must apply to every real Individual in the 'Condition of togetherness'( hereinafter, the Social). In a Democracy, regardless of Race, Color, or Creed, every real Individual must be 'counted' or, 'accounted for'. The Bottom of Democracy, or the 'Social', must be 'quantified' and every real 'Individual' must be included in the 'establishment' and 'distribution' of 'Rights', Juridical and Economic, that must be attributed to the 'Freedom and Equality' of the Individual. On the other hand, 'Capitalism' and business 'Corporations' are 'money making machines'; that's their sole function. They can only function with a 'motor' of 'Profits and Money'. To be sure, they belong in the Economy, as an 'essential Part' of the Polity. But, a 'Democratic Polity' is motored by 'Freedom and Equality'. Hence, the tension between Democracy and Capitalism. Capitalism has a great advantage over Democratic Government because its sole function is Profits and Money, and for that purpose, it has created 'Legal Fictions' called 'Corporations', and they are considered as a 'Person' subject to the protection of the Constitution. The 'Democratic Polity' doesn't have 'fictional Individuals'. They are all 'Real human beings' and the Freedom and Equality applies to each and every real human being. These real human beings constitute the Social and no real Human Being can compete with a 'Corporate Person'. The corporate 'economic embrace' is beyond measure. Capitalism has destroyed healthy competition. Of course, the increased 'economic embrace', or, 'economic Grasp', contributes to the 'lop-sided' economic 'balance' in the Social. That economic balance dominates the economic field and leads to 'Greed' and the 1%. So, do we get rid of Corporations? NO!,No!, No!, we give Corporations more democratic duties and we control Greed, or, the 'hoarding' of the Medium of Exchange. The democratic duties could include provisions in their Charters to provide more 'democratic Functions' with a 'newly formed internal structure'. With respect to hoarding, a medium of Exchange must circulate. That's its sole purpose. Hoarding by 'Corporations' or their "Owners" should be made Illegal, or, their Tax bracket should return to where it was some years ago, 70%-90%. A corporation is not a 'Real Person'; its a Fiction and hence, its not entitled to be treated as a 'Real Person'.

Democracy's greatest problem is the 'Capitalistic attitude' and hoarding a 'Medium of Exchange'.

Democracy's greatest problem is the Capitalistic attitude of the 'People' at the Bottom. There is nothing wrong with Capitalism as an economic system. Its the best economic system. But, the system, as a whole, is motored by Profits and Money. Hence, Capitalism has its place in a Democracy. nevertheless, it must stay within its 'own social boundaries'. That may not be too easy; because all the 'Peoples', at the Bottom of Government, and all Politicians also live within the same Governmental, Economic, Social, Capitalistic system. The two systems must function 'separately'. But. it becomes imperative for the 'Governmental part' and the 'Political Part', to function with Freedom and Equality for all the Individuals in the Social. Politicians must be 'conversant' and 'functional' within the Political system and hence, must function with 'political principles' of Democracy. The Problematic arises when we 'mix' the Two, or, sometimes, when Government is infiltrated with a 'Capitalistic attitude' that 'creeps' into Governing. In all Probability, there is no such thing as a Billionaire Politician. The reason for that is that an economy cannot function with the Motor of Freedom and Equality and a Democratic Government cannot function with a motor of Profits, Money, and Bigness. Hence, a Political candidate must be a Politician. Normally, a Billionaire is motivated by Profits, Money, and Bigness, whereas, a Politician should be motivated by 'political principles'; 'political Ideology'; and the altruistic 'wish' to Govern with 'Democracy'. A Billionaire 'Politician' wants 'more and more of the same' and builds 'Big Buildings', and makes decisions based on Profits, money and 'a Good Deal'. A 'Real Politician' wishes to eliminate 'discrimination' of all kinds; particularly, Racial, Economic; and Educational; and to arrange the Social in a 'form or structure' that protects and respects the Freedom and Equality of 'all real Individuals' in the Social. His first priority should be to 'rearrange' the 'internal form' of the Corporation, so that it 'reflects' a more 'democratic' form of existence. After all, Law creates Corporations. Its time Corporations also become 'motored' by some Democratic Political principles and not solely, by economic principles. Business Corporations are Money Making Machines and hence those Profits and monies should go to some 'Democratic ideals' and 'functions', instead of the 1%. 'Hoarding' a 'Medium of Exchange' should be a punishable Legal Offence. After all, its only a 'medium of exchange', and its only created for that 'sole function'.

The Democratic 'motor' works upon 'each' Individual; the Capitalistic 'motor' works upon 'Economic Institutions'.

The Democratic motor works upon 'each' and 'every' Real Individual in the 'Condition of Togetherness'( hereinafter referred to as 'the Condition'). Every Individual must be 'accounted' and 'provided for', within the 'Condition'. The reason for that is that 'each Individual' retains his/her unique 'Individuality', and must 'count' in the establishment of 'Democratic governing'. One cannot 'count' within 'general abstractions' like Social, Society, The People, the Bottom, etc.. General abstractions cannot be 'verified'. Unfortunately, they leave 'too much wiggle room' for 'duplicity' and they do not provide any mode for 'accountability'. In a 'Real Democracy', each 'real' Individual must be 'counted', and S/he cannot be swept under the 'rug of 'abstract generality'. That means that when we say every Individual is Free and Equal, we must 'include', i.e., 'count' 'every' Individual, regardless of 'Race', 'Color', 'Creed', 'Class', Social, or Economic standing. If, You or I, are not 'counted' in formulating Freedom and Equality in the 'condition of togetherness', we do not live in a Democracy. When we 'Quantify Democracy', every Real Individual is 'Counted' and every 'Leader' is 'Accountable'. In Capitalism the goal is to 'Produce', 'more and more of the Same', i.e., Profits and Money. That created the 1%. Capitalists want Big, Huge, never-ending 'more and more'. They even went to the extent of creating Legal Fictions called 'Persons', like you and I, and afforded them Constitutional protection. Capitalists don't 'Govern'; they 'Produce': on the Other hand, Politicians don't 'produce', they 'Govern' with 'Freedom and Equality'. A good Politician probably wouldn't make a very Good Businessman; and a good Businessman would never make a 'good Politician'. The point is don't 'inextricably' mix the Two. Keep 'Big Business' out of Politics, and get rid of Citizens United.

The 'Democratic Motor' establishes Law and Order to 'drive' Freedom and Equality of the Individual.

The Democratic 'Motor' establishes Law and Order to 'further' drive the Freedom and Equality of the Individual. Only a democratic Motor can do that. Law and Order 'establishes' and 'arranges' an 'orderly' and 'effective' 'condition of togetherness' that 'protects and defends' the freedom and equality of all the 'real' Individuals in the Nation, or the 'Social'. This arrangement of the 'condition of togetherness' must originate at the 'Top of Government', or, stated differently, at the 'inception of the Governmental Entity'; i.e., its 'Constituted nature', or, its Constitution. Constitutional Law 'governs' the constituted nature of the Nation and the 'place' of the Real Individual of the Social. The 'economic motor' is also a 'necessary part' of the 'National scheme'; but, the 'economic motor' is part of the 'Political' or 'Democratic motor'. The Nation and the real Individuals need an Economy but, at this point, great care must be taken. The Economy is 'part' of the political and not the other way around. There are 'political terms' like 'Political Economy' that can be used to 'confuse' the priority of the Terms. There's a great danger to misunderstanding the priority of the 'two Institutions'. If we place the Economic 'prior' to the Political, we are placing their respective motors at the point of Origin. The motor of the Economic is 'profits and money' and the motor of the Political is 'Freedom and equality'. Neither Institution can function with the 'Motor' of the Other. Try making a 'Profit' with Freedom and Equality, or, try implementing 'Democracy' with profits and money. Another problem is that the Economic sector has Legal Fictions or, 'artificial persons'. They are not 'Real Persons'. Hence, they should not be 'equated' to the 'Real'. In a real Constitutional Democracy, all the 'real persons' are protected by the Constitution. The Legal Fiction can also be protected, but only 'up to a point'. They are not Real!; and 'should not' be 'equated' to the Real. There goes 'Objectivity'. Get rid of Citizens United!

A Democracy requires Law and Order to protect the 'Freedom and Equality' of the Individual.

A Democracy protects the 'Freedom and Equality' of each and every 'Individual', in the 'Condition of Togetherness', through Law and Order. Law and Order is both a 'positive statement' and a 'negative statement' of what an Individual 'can' and 'cannot' do. The term Law and Order refers to the 'structure' or 'form' of the 'condition of togetherness', as it is 'circumscribed', and 'structured', by Law. That's why it is said that we are a 'Nation of Laws'. There are many kinds of Law. Constitutional Law 'delineates' the 'establishment' and the 'Power' in the Three Branches of Government. The Constitution 'constitutes us' as a Nation. Civil and Criminal Law delineates the Laws governing Civil Society or the 'condition of togetherness'. It sets out general Rights and structures a 'Social'. Whereas, Criminal Law sets out, in negative fashion, what we cannot do. If we violate a criminal statute, we can be punished and even put in jail. If a Corporation violates a Criminal Law, it cannot be punished or put in jail, because it does not exist. Its a Legal Fiction and exists only in contemplation of Law. Of course, there are Laws that govern corporations; their creation, and their structures. The 'Fiction' is created by Law. A Corporation is not a Natural entity. If a corporation does something wrong, it can be corrected, but, if in violation of Criminal Statutes, it cannot be put in jail. Its possible to get behind the corporate structure to punish the real Individual behind the infraction, but first one must "pierce the corporate veil", to get to the Individual. That's not an easy task. Corporations are "Persons" and entitled to protection by the Constitution, but they are not 'real' Persons. A real Person cannot compete with a Corporation. Hence, the economy is 'out of kilter'. The motor that drives a Democracy is freedom and equality. The motor that drives the Economy and Capitalism is Profits, and money. The Two motors must be kept separate because Democracy cannot survive with profits and Money; and Capitalism cannot survive with Freedom and Equality.

Democracy is not perfect; but its a viable system for implementing its Principles.

Democracy is not perfect; but its a viable system for implementing its Principles. The fact that it has Three Branches of Government is already a 'different approach' to Governing; an approach that allows for the 'participation' of each of the Three Branches to function in their different capacities. Of course, the interaction between the Branches is not a perfect one; but its a 'means' which allows for the 'expression' of the 'will' of the 'Individual', or, stated differently, for the 'expression' of 'the Bottom', of Government, or, of the 'will of the People' in their 'condition of togetherness'. The Bottom, the People, 'legislates'; the Top, the Government, 'Governs'; and the 'sides' or the Third Branch, 'Adjudicates'. Its the best system of Government around; not Perfect, but then we live in a 'real World'. The system has many areas that need improvement. But, that is not a reason for discarding the system. To be sure its a reason to 'better it' or to try to 'perfect it'. But, the division into Three Branches further requires that the 'function' of each 'Branch' must remain 'separate'. A 'Separation of Powers' is necessary for the 'Structure' or 'Form' of Democracy to 'retain' its 'democratic nature', i.e., a Government "of the People", "by the People" and "for the People". No 'One Branch' can interfere with the 'Other Branch'. If the System is to remain 'viable', the System must 'respect' and be 'Bound' by the 'function' of the 'Other' Branches of the System. A Three Branch Government can only function by means of 'Law and Order'. Law and Order governs the Social, or, the Bottom, or 'the condition of togetherness'; Law and Order governs the function of the 'Executive Branch' by Constitutional interpretation. At this point, great care must be taken, because the Third Branch must decide, objectively, if possible, what is 'Law'and 'Order' in a Three Branch form of Governmental interaction. The problematic is that the members of the Third Branch already belong to different 'Political Parties', and the 'Social' is further organized into 'Federal' and 'States' groupings, or into a 'Republic' form of Government; so the question is what constitutes 'Objectivity' in Adjudication?

A Democracy solely 'driven' by 'Capitalistic principles' is in trouble.

A Democracy solely driven by Capitalistic Principles is in trouble. In such a case, the Democracy will never improve itself; never become more efficient; never eliminate the 'non-democratic aspects' of its Political structure; never eliminate Racial discrimination; sexual discrimination; economic injustices; never 'celebrate' the 'Human Condition'. In such a case, the end results of all activity within the Nation will gradually transform the Democratic form into a Plutocratic form, or, an Oligarchic form. The 'focus' of 'such a transformed entity' 'drifts away' from the 'political principles' of 'Governing' with Freedom and Equality. That is not a 'Political Entity' called a 'Nation'; that is closer to an 'Economic Entity' called a 'Corporation' whose sole goal is to 'accumulate' as much as possible, and to be as 'Large and Powerful' as Possible'. How sad; Governing has been replaced by 'accumulation' that is 'motored' by 'Greed', i.e. more and more of the 'same' (money and the 1% ). An economic Institution cannot have Power, that is an 'economic illusion'. It may have 'influence', but, never Power. 'Power only exists in Political Entities' because their Job is to Govern the Bottom of the 'Power relation' found in the 'ancient relation' of the One and the Many; or, the 'Top and the Bottom' of Government. Governments must 'govern'; economies must 'produce' more and more of the same,i.e., products, money, and 'Big Buildings'. The economic form 'changes' every time that a 'new way' or a new product is discovered and can be used for making money. The Democratic form of Government does not change and is always searching for ways to eliminate all 'types of discrimination'; 'imbalances'; and 'problems'; in the Freedom and Equality 'guaranteed' to each and every Real Human being living in the 'condition of togetherness'. In this way, Government 'serves' and provides for the General Welfare of the People.

Democracy can only be driven by Freedom and Equality; Capitalism can only be driven by Profits and Money.

Democracy can only be driven by Freedom and Equality; while capitalism can only be driven by Profits and Money. Democracy that is not motored by Freedom and Equality is not democracy because the essence of the Institution are the 'Many Individuals' that have formed it into a Political Institution. A Political Institution cannot exist without some 'creative Act' or, an Act by the so-called 'Many' that have instituted it; like a Constitution. That 'Act' closes the Gap between the relation of the so-called, the "One and the Many". That relation 'brings together' the Top and the Bottom of the Institution. The Institution is now dependent on its 'Creators' but only to the extent of the 'essence' of the relation. 'That' relation relates to the 'Power to Govern' the 'Many' in Freedom and Equality. There is no other function for the Political relation. The Capitalistic function 'generates money and Profits' for the continued existence of the Economic aspects of the 'Social' or, better said, the 'condition of togetherness'. Obviously, the 'competitive nature' of economic activity i.e., to create profits and money, requires a basic struggle against each Other. In other words, one 'Individual' makes more money than the 'Other'. To 'help' the economy, Legal Fictions or 'artificial persons' were created to generate more and more of the same, or 'Money', 'profits', 'Capital', to help the 'generation of Money' and the 'stabilization' of the Economy. In other words; Legal Fictions became necessary to 'help the economy'. Corporations are Fictions, Money is a fiction, 'profits' is an 'accumulation of a Fiction', So, what have we done, have we just transferred the 'Old Problematic' of the 'One and the Many' to the economic sector? We truly have, but it really does not make any difference,i.e., if we keep the Political principles separate from the Economic principles and if we don't mix the two; and if we allow a 'hegemonic advantage' of the Political Principles of Democracy. Democracy 'must govern', and it can only do so with the Principles of Freedom and Equality.

What is the goal of Democracy? What is the goal of Capitalism?

The goal of Democracy is to form and structure a form of Government and a Social 'condition' that will protect and respect the Freedom and Equality of each and every real Individual within the jurisdiction of the Nation. The Goal of Capitalism is to Make, Create, Stabilize, economic Institutions that will help 'perpetuate' the economic 'condition' called 'more and more of the Same', viz., Money and Profits and large economic 'Institutions' that will 'help' the Individuals in the Social, or, in the 'condition of togetherness'. The goal of both Institutions should be to provide for the 'General Welfare' of the 'Peoples' in the Nation. Of course, we are all aware that once formed into a Political Entity, the 'condition of togetherness' became 'divided into Political Parties; and the Economy, with the help of 'Legal Fictions' called "Corporations", became divided into 'Haves' and 'Have-Nots', or, into the 1% and the 99%. For over 200 years, neither the 'Government' nor 'Capitalism' has 'attempted' to reconcile that 'dichotomy'. Instead, we have a political situation, where the Economy is trying to make 'inroads' into the Political. No!, No!, the Economy is in Political Office! Today's Political 'quagmire' is that the 'economy' is in Office. Economic thinkers, who think in Profit or Loss 'concepts' are 'driving' the ship of State. Is it any wonder that when one listens carefully to so-called 'political statements', they 'smell' like 'economic statements'? Where are the 'Freedom and Equality' concepts in all this? The Political has taken 'Second Place' in the arrangement of the 'condition of togetherness'. What has 'Man' done to 'Man'? From the best Political system we have descended into Plutocracy. How sad. We can blame the Political System or the Economic System, but it sure seems to be a 'Humankind fault'. 'Greed' has overcome 'Politics', or is it our 'Political Correctness'? Where are the Statesmen? We need a real Politician, one that is Strong, and that speaks Politics, and that 'knows' the Place of Politics( Democracy), and the place of Economics. Lets hope 'someone' shows up; if not, we're in a world of shit!

Democracy is the best form of Government. Capitalism is the best Economic Form. But, "never shall the twain meet".

No form of government is perfect; but Democracy is the best form. It's the best form because Governments 'Govern' their 'People' and Democratic Government is "of the People", "by the People" and "for the People". The sole function of Government is to 'Govern'; it has no other reason or purpose for existing. Nations and Governments are 'created' or 'established' by the People. Nations and Governments are Political Institutions. They are not Natural, nor, are they 'born', i.e., in the manner that human beings are parts of Nature and are born. Hence, what better form for a Government, than a Government "of People", "by People" and "for People"? But, there are other important aspects to Governing a Nation or a 'Society' (a high level abstraction, hence, better stated as a "condition of togetherness"), that need elaboration. Each and every real Individual in the "condition of togetherness' needs to have the means for continuing their existence, or, stated differently, 'of survival' within the Nation. That further means that Nations and Governments must provide the 'Institutional means' by which these 'necessities' are made available to all the Individuals in the 'condition of togetherness', hence, the General Welfare. Here, enters Law and Capitalism. ( Ill get to Law later). Capitalism is an 'economic form' without peer. Capitalism is 'Good', its 'Great'. We need Capitalism. But, at this point we must be very, very careful. Capitalism has a 'motor', a 'movement' that insures 'its survival', as an economic Form. Governments also have their 'Motors'. Democratic Governments, 'must Govern'. They have no 'Other function'. At this point great care is necessary. Democratic Governments govern with 'Freedom and Equality'; i.e., each and every real Individual under their jurisdiction is considered Free and Equal. But, Capitalism is motored by competition, Money, and Profits. Capitalism cannot Motor a Democracy and Democracy cannot motor Capitalism. They must work 'together' but, they must remain separate entities. Democratic Governments 'suffer' when they are motored by 'Profits and money'( the 1%). Capitalism 'suffers' when it is motored by 'Freedom and Equality'. Never Shall The Twain Meet.

The term "Social" gives birth to the term "Socialism''; which is used as a weapon for 'political BS'.

The term Social gives birth to the term 'Socialism' which is political BS. "Social" is a high level abstraction that assumes the 'reality' of each and every 'real' Individual in 'Society', or, at the Bottom of Government. Its a Political term and as such should include all the 'real Individuals' within the boundaries of the Bottom or the so-called 'Social Space'. It should include every 'real Individual' at the Bottom of the 'condition of togetherness'. In the 'condition of togetherness', also referred too as the 'Bottom of Government', the Individuals that are 'left out', glaringly 'stand-out' and hence can be 'counted'. But, in 'Socialism', the term is so broad that it merely 'assumes' that everyone is included. Of course, 'political correctness' is full of such generalities. Maybe some of those terms are necessary, but the term " Social" can easily be 'replaced', or 'understood' with the following words; 'the condition of togetherness'. In the 'condition of togetherness', every 'real Individual' is included in the 'condition' and, consequently, can be 'counted'. By, so doing, we 'quantify' the 'term', which enables us to really 'measure the condition'; hence, it becomes easy to measure 'inclusion' and exclusion', and hence, 'Government accountability' becomes possible. That move 'quantifies' the 'Bottom' of democratic Government. It 'quantifies Democracy'. Most, if not all, Nations claiming to be 'Socialistic', are not really concerned with the 'real Individuals' under their care, or with a so-called 'inclusive' Social. They are more concerned with a 'form of Autocratic Rule' with 'favoritism' towards "legal Fictions" called 'Persons' ( corporations) than they are with a form resembling 'real Democratic Government'. Hence, the term 'Socialism' becomes a 'weapon' against any attempt to really include the 'real human beings' at the Bottom' of democratic Government. Do we dare say it, they favor "fake- Persons" instead of 'real human beings'.

Saturday, May 13, 2017

The terms "Society" and 'Social' must be distinguished from "the condition of togetherness".

The terms "Society" and the term "Social" must be distinguished from the words " the condition of togetherness". The reason being that the first two terms are very high level abstractions and in referring to 'real' Individuals 'living' in the 'social', cannot afford to lose their 'precision'. The term "condition of togetherness' retains the individual existence of each and every Individual in the 'condition' described as "togetherness". The term 'togetherness', as a term of 'collection' cannot exist unless their is 'someone else' that also 'exists' alongside the 'Others'. In other words the term is 'inclusive' and each Individual can be 'counted',i.e., 'included' or 'excluded' and hence that allows for 'accountability'in Government. The other two terms are 'too abstract' and can be used to 'exclude'. Don't get me wrong, its possible to use the terms ,but not with the same 'precision'. Hence, the 'caution' in the use of the terms. Of course, in the 'relation' between the Top and the Bottom of Government, the Top relates to the Bottom of Government, and the Top must Govern the Bottom and must 'include' each and every 'real' Individual in the 'Social'. No 'real' Individual can be excluded. Government must Govern and that means it must pass Laws which provide Order, and it must 'care and provide' for the 'Social and the General Welfare of its Citizens. Government is a Political Institution and its sole function is to Govern. A Government is not a 'referee'; nor, does it just 'stand-by' while the 'Social deconstructs'; it must 'Govern' and it must 'Govern' democratically. There is no other function for Government. If Government 'fails', it must be replaced.

Every Nation needs a Political 'motor' and an Economic 'motor'.

Every Nation needs a 'motor' i.e. a Political 'motor' as well as an Economic 'motor'. Each of the motors serves as a 'motivational factor' for 'moving', 'accomplishing', a Political and an Economic 'result' within the Nation. Both are essential and 'the end result' serves to 'delineate' the 'form' or the 'structure' of the 'Social or Society' we live in. The 'structure' or 'form' of the Social is basic and applies to every 'Society', whether primitive or technologically sophisticated. But, an 'essential aspect' of the 'basic formation' of the Social also determines the direction that the Nation takes. Of course, both the Political Entity and the Economic Entity are essential aspects of the Nation. The Nation can be Autocratic, or 'Other' variations, or Democratic, or 'Other' variations, and the 'social' can be subject to Autocratic or Democratic Governing. At this point enters the 'Purity' of the 'Governing' factor. If democracy Governs, the Freedom and Equality of every Individual is, or should be, assured. But, a problematic can also enter at this point. That problem is the 'economic factor' or Capitalism. If the Economic factor dominates, or stated differently, if the 'Economic Motor' overwhelms the Political Motor, it becomes dominant and the political motor loses its efficacy. That's exactly what happened when the Government created the Business Corporation and legally considered it as a 'Person' subject to Constitutional protection. An economic 'legal Fiction' created to help the economic sector to achieve stability and, whether foreseen or not, dominance. That move also helped create the 1%. The end result is 'Plutocracy' with 'tinges of Autocracy'; viz., a Government 'of' the 1%, 'by' the Corporate elite, and 'for' the corporate elite. The 'Legal Fiction' has become Master. What has 'become' to Democracy and to Freedom and Equality?

Its very important to distinguish between 'Governing Principles' and 'Economic Principles'.

In a Democracy, there is a clear distinction between 'Governing Principles' and 'Economic Principles'. Of course, every Political Entity, regardless its Political Nature, needs an Economy. But, its important to distinguish between Economic, or, Capitalistic principles, and Democratic Principles. A Democracy is a Government "of the People", "by the People", and "for the People". The People 'create' the Government for the purpose of 'Self-Rule'. We have already said that 'one lone Individual living on an Island, all by him/her self' does not need Government. He or She will learn how to 'cope', how to acquire 'food', how to stay 'safe', how to prolong his or her existence. Perform the 'Thought experiment'. If you do, you will find that in that 'scenario', Government is unnecessary. But, the 'reality' is different. There is not just one Individual on the Island, there are 'millions' of People on the 'Island'. 'Many Peoples' need a Government! But, its the millions of 'People' that 'need Government'; It is never a 'Government' that needs People. Government would not even exist, but for the 'Many People' that need it. Hence, what better 'form' of Government is there, than one that is "of the People", "by the People", and "For the People". Once the Government is established, it has to 'run on' the Freedom and Equality of each and every Individual that helped set up the Democratic form of Government. Economic Principles work differently. The goal is always to make a Profit; to get Larger; to generate 'more and more' of the same; viz., Money. So, what better way to generate huge amounts of money than to 'create Legal Fictions', i. e., Corporations that only 'exist in contemplation of Law'. Already one can see the uneven 'playing field' that renders 'competition' obsolete and favors 'Greed' and 'economic obesity'. That creates the 1%. That creates Plutocracy. That's why Democratic Government cannot run on Economic Principles; Democratic Government must run on 'freedom and Equality'. If a Corporation wants to be considered a 'Person', it should 'live' more democratic, it should be required to have 'Branches' that do 'charitable work', in exchange for the huge 'economic grasp' it has 'been given'. Failing that, it should be dissolved. Democracy created 'Economic Monsters'; its time democracy acquired 'more control' over the business corporation.

Saturday, April 29, 2017

Corporate CEO's are 'driving' the Ship of State; democracy is in 'trouble'.

Corporate CEO's are driving the Ship of State;... Democracy is in trouble. An 'economic engine' cannot drive a 'Political Entity'. First and foremost, we are a Political Entity and then we have a 'successful economy'. The Political Entity is the Can; the Economy is the contents of the Can. The economy functions with 'Profits'; and it functions on a Huge scale. The motivations for having and creating a 'huge Corporation' are different from the motivations for Governing a Nation; particularly a Democratic Nation. A Democratic Nation is motored by Freedom and Equality and it must also exist on the International scene with other Governments that may not be Democratic. If a business CEO controls a Democracy and he wants to control and enlarge the 'sphere' of influence of the Democracy, on the International scale, he cannot do it with a 'Profits motor'; he needs a 'Freedom and Equality' motor. For example; sending weapons to an allied and then 'billing' them for the weapons will not work; that is ludicrous. That's an 'Economic move' not a 'Political move'. 'Wrong motor' for a Political Entity. Heaven helps us. We are 'doing business' with 'Political entities'. To be sure, business is possible between political entities, but the two motors cannot be 'confused' or 'mixed', and they certainly cannot be 'misused'. We need 'Statesmen' or 'Stateswomen' at the helms. We usually criticize Politicians, but we sure need some right now. Even 'political correctness' is better then a 'Businessman' doing 'business as usual'. Truly, Governing 'has changed', but don't make the mistake of 'putting the wrong motor' at the Top of a Political Entity.

Democracy helped create a Corporate Society; but Corporations cannot function with Freedom and Equality.

The Freedom and Equality that 'motors' Democracy helped 'create' a Corporate Society; but, Corporations cannot 'function' or be 'motored' with Freedom and Equality; they need 'competition' and 'Profits and Money'. Take away Profits and Money from a 'corporate nature' or from its 'Person-hood' and you take away the very 'nature' or the 'motor' that mobilizes the Capitalistic impulse. Capitalism requires 'competition' and competition requires 'dog-eat-dog-tactics'; not Freedom and Equality. It squashes the 'little guy'; it destroys the 'small' and creates 'huge Corporate Giants'. What happens to Democracy or the 'Freedom and Equality' required by a Democratic Social? Since the 'existence' of the Corporate nature is protected by Law, why can't it also be required to be a 'Good Citizen'? Of course, you ask, how? Well, lets look at that. The Corporation owes its very existence to Law; hence, Law can also require, as part of that existence, that every 'Corporate person' that exists within a Democracy also have 'Sections'; 'Departments', 'Agencies', Branches, within their Corporate nature which 'helps and contributes' to the 'General Welfare' of the Social. Obviously, Corporations make 'huge Profits' because they were given a huge 'economic grasp'. That economic grasp exceeds the 'Real Individuals' grasp and also the 'small corporate grasp' of 'essential corporate natures' within the Social. Probably the so-called 1% comes from the hoarding of huge corporate profits. The corporation owes its existence to the 'Democratic spirit', so there is no reason why its corporate structure cannot be required to organize itself in a manner that contributes to the General Welfare, as required by the Constitution. All 'real' citizens 'contribute' to the General Welfare by being Law abiding. Corporations should be required to do the same thing. If they fail to live more 'democratically', their Charters should be 'modified' or 'yanked'.

A Great Democracy can 'include' a successful Capitalism; but, a successful Capitalism cannot include a great Democracy.

A Great Democracy can include a successful Capitalism; but, a successful Capitalism will never include a Great Democracy. Why not? Simply because the Democracy is the 'Container' or 'Can' and Capitalism is the 'contents' of the 'Can'. Capitalism belongs 'in' a Democracy; but, Democracy cannot be contained 'within' Capitalism. Democracy is driven by Freedom and equality; while Capitalism is driven by Profits and money. Try driving Democracy with Profits and money; it wont 'go'. If it does 'go', its because its no longer a democracy, but a 'kingdom of sorts'. By that analogy, I mean the King becomes the 'can' and the King owns 'everything', including the 'serfs'( People). Real Democracy is 'motored', 'motivated', 'moved', by the Freedom and Equality of Each and Every Individual living within the Borders of the Nation. That does not include Legal Fictions like corporations, that exist, only in contemplation of law. They are not real People; they are the 'contents' of the Can. Their existence as 'contents' is entirely dependent on the 'democratic nature' of the 'can', or, the Nation. The 'contents' can never drive the 'can'; the can 'drives', 'determines', and 'holds' the contents. Of course, the 'political obligations' of the 'can' are 'tremendous'. It must determine the 'democratic structure' that will 'house' and 'drive democracy and its 'contents', namely, a successful Capitalism. Capitalism must also recognize its obligation to 'live' a 'democratic Life'. Capitalism can exist within Democracy. By employing Metaphors and stretching Language a bit, we can see clearly that Capitalism can exist 'within' Democracy and that we 'would never have' a democracy, if we allow 'Profits and Money' to drive Democracy. We need 'Politicians' at the helm; not businessmen. A Businessman can drive a Corporation, but she/he cannot drive a Nation; but Politicians must also 'wake up', and forget 'political correctness'; and 'learn' how to be a 'States-person'; i.e. a 'Real' Representative of 'all' the People.

Capitalism is important; it can create a Great Economy; but, it cannot drive Democracy.

Capitalism is important, but it cannot 'drive' a Democracy. There is nothing wrong with a successful Capitalistic economy. But, keep in mind that Capitalism is based on competition and Profits. Without competition and the generation of Profits, it cant go anywhere. It can't 'grow'. Competition is just the attitude that I can 'produce', 'provide', or 'sell you', 'some need' at a more 'reasonable price' than the next Guy. Economic competition makes for big, incremental increases in productivity, sales, and profits. That, basically, is an economic system that functions and requires 'profits', sometimes, lots of Profits. Being 'large' or 'huge' is an essential element. Hence; it also requires a larger 'Person-hood'; hence, the necessity of the Legal Fiction; namely, the Corporate structure that exists only "in contemplation of Law". But, keep in mind that 'Capitalism and Profits' are economic principles and not 'Governmental Principles'. Governmental Principles are designed to Govern all Individuals that exist in a 'condition of togetherness', next to each Other, as 'Independent' Individuals. Each Individual is unique, sacred, and is entitled, as a human being, to be 'Free and Equal' within the Governmental system. There is no 'competition' between Freedom and Equality. No one Individual gets 'more' or 'less' Freedom and Equality. In a real Democracy everyone is Equal and everyone should enjoy his/ her Freedom within the confines of Law. In other words, an Economy is 'motored' by 'profits and Largess', and a Democracy is motored by Freedom and Equality. Each system has its 'particular motor' and 'neither system' can be motored by the 'motor' of the 'Other System'. It is 'economic suicide' to have an economy driven by Freedom and Equality, and its 'Governmental suicide' to have a Democracy driven by 'Profits and competition'. Each must remain within its proper Institution. An Economy belongs WITHIN its Governmental system. But, unfortunately, we 'mix' the Two. Hence, all the 'economic' and 'democratic' problems. 'That' accounts for the 1%; lack of a 'living wage'; Legal Fictions or Corporations getting 'more and more attributes' of a 'real, living human Being'; and our Leaders are more concerned with 'Trade' than with 'Freedom and Equality'. How sad; we are 'governed' with Economic principles: the legal fictions, Corporations, are becoming 'more' and 'more' Real; and Democracy has gone 'out the window'. Hello Alice! can we come in?; we too, live in a 'Wonderland'.

Greedy Capitalism cannot 'drive' a Real democracy; only Freedom and Equality can drive Democracy.

Greedy Capitalism cannot drive Democracy; only Freedom and Equality can drive a real Democracy. The motor of a Capitalistic economy is 'Profits'; only 'Profits' 'count' in a highly successful Economy. If the profitable fails, the economy fails. Of course, profits and so-called economic principles can generate a very healthy 'National economy'. However, we cannot make the mistake of equating the 'driving force' of economies with the 'driving force' of Democracies. The two phenomena are different, and the actual fact is that a 'Real democracy' cannot survive 'within' a 'dominant economy'; but, the 'Contrary' is also a fact; i.e. a 'successful economy' must exist 'within a Real Democracy'; and a Real Democracy must be 'driven' by Freedom and Equality. Try building a 'successful economy' in an Autocratic Nation. It wont work. Everything belongs to the Autocrat, including the Individuals Freedom and Equality. Of course, we know that Corporations are not 'real Persons'. Nevertheless, certain aspects of 'Corporate Person-hood' is protected by Constitutional Law because that 'legal fiction' is essential to a 'successful economy'. But, its still a 'Fiction'. Its not real, and we cannot make the mistake of equating Economic principles with Political principles. Democracy can only be driven by Freedom and Equality and that 'driving force' applies to each and every 'real Individual' living in a Democracy. A problematic arises when these Individuals begin to 'value money' and 'profits' more than 'Freedom and Equality'. This causes a shift in the 'value system' of a 'real democracy'. The 'shift' is towards the economic and away from democratic principles. The end result is a 1% holding most of the medium of exchange. Individuals living in a Democracy have a duty to 'value' and 'protect' the Freedom and Equality that helps propel the democratic spirit. Without that 'democratic spirit', we could easily become the most 'successful economy' in the world, and still have 'millions of real Individuals' living in 'poverty' and 'squalor'. How sad; 'Economic Principles' overpowers 'Political Principles'. We need to get it straight; the 'Economic' belongs 'within' the Political; then a 'successful economy' can benefit a 'Democratic Bottom'.

Real Democracy has been diluted by Party Loyalty and a greedy Capitalistic economy.

Real Democracy has been diluted by 'Party loyalty' and a Greedy Capitalistic economy. We live in a 'Condition of Togetherness' which embraces Millions of human beings. In a real democracy, each and every Human Being, 'counts' as a 'necessary element', of the 'condition of togetherness'. That is to say, each Individual is 'real'( unlike a Corporation that is a Legal Fiction and only exists "in contemplation of Law"); each Individual is 'Free'; each Individual is 'Equal'. Democratic Government has a duty to Govern the 'Condition of togetherness, in a Constitutional manner. One basic problematic is that once a 'condition of togetherness', or a Social, forms, it divides itself into 'Different Groups'; institutionally referred too as Political Parties. The result is that a 'tension' is created by institutionalizing a 'point of view'. Then, a so-called Loyalty kicks in and never shall the twain meet. Don't get me wrong. There's nothing wrong with Parties if, and only if, the parties are all 'democratic'. If all Parties are democratic, why should there be any antagonism between them, other then, different modes of accomplishing the same democratic goal? Such differences should not call for 'vicious Political Fighting'. Democracy is diluted when the Parties become antagonistic and merely base their 'antagonism' on 'Party- Loyalty'. How sad; Representatives playing 'childish games'. The further complication kicks in when one Party favors 'legal Fictions', which are not 'real human beings', and which can only function by means of 'economic principles' called 'Profits' and not 'Political principles' of Freedom and Equality. Greed infiltrates the Real Democracy and turns it into a 'Capitalistic Social' based on 'Haves' and 'Have-nots'. The only salvation for Politics is an Objective Branch in a Democracy of Three Branches. But, the irony is that the Third Branch, (the Supreme Court) is 'ultimately' 'selected', 'elected', by the other Two Branches constituted of 'Party-loyal' Representatives, who advance their Institutionalized point of view. How sad. The end-result is a 'purported' Objective Supreme Court that decides cases based on 'prior historical decisions' that no longer apply to an 'advanced technological society'. Democracy is 'diluted'; the Economy is 'installed into a 'Political System' that 'should' Represent the Freedom and Equality of each and every 'real' Human being. Humanity Counts.
